Machine learning experiment: trained on sex positions with titles generated by GPT-2. Very strange. Not sure if this is going to go any father than this.
Working on another studio scene. Obviously having too much fun with this! Playing with my predilection for organizing things and my archival inclinations. Looking at possibilities for expanding out the idea, maybe to a sculpture.
Final coats of white paint. Being a little too fussy, but the paint isn't helping by not co-operating: bubbling up for some reason. Arggghh. Next step, clear coat, then assembly, and it is done.
Cut out the holes and mounted the speakers and plexiglas. Next up: shellac the inside, hook up power, attach the back and see if I can stick it to the wall. Would've rather had a French cleat on the back, but this was the first cabinet I ever built, so I wasn't competent enough to do that.
Getting a little closer to being done. All the stuff on the inside done, with power coming out of the back. Not super keen on that back connector: might have to work on that part a bit. Otherwise, pretty happy overall. Don't like the gap around the drawer. Next step maybe: write back to the kids who gave me all the cards. They would be in their 40s now!
Repurposing the hanging cabinet that I don't like by converting it into a speaker cabinet. Cut the plexiglas for the opening and will mount the speakers in it. The doors will close, so it should look good. Happy to give this thing a new life.
Added two smaller speakers to the side - now it sounds better (the big speaker was pointed down, so it was muffled). Little bit of trauma with the plexiglas falling apart, but managed to recover. Next step is to install the drawer switch and wire up the power cord.
